NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans is preparing to celebrate the Super Krewe of Endymion, rolling through Mid-City and Downtown on Saturday, Feb. 10. With over 3,000 riders, Endymion is only one of three super krewes to parade during Mardi Gras.

This year, Endymion is honoring City officials by naming Chief Administrative Officer Gilbert Montaño and New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick as Co-Grand Marshalls of the parade. This year’s Endymion parade theme is, “Silents Are Golden.”

Endymion was founded in 1966 by the late Ed Muniz. He remained a Captain and Chairman of the Board of the organization until he passed away in 2023. Muniz also served as a Councilman at Large for the City of Kenner, a District 4 Councilman for Jefferson Parish and completed his career as an elected official serving as Mayor of Kenner from 2006-2010.

After the parade rolls, the Endymion Extravaganza will be hosted in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, with live performances by Grammy Award-winning recording artist and musician Sting and platinum-selling rapper, singer and songwriter Flo Rida. They will also be joined by The Mixed Nuts, Groovy 7 and The Wiseguys.
