Troy A. Carter, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Louisiana's 2nd district, has recently made several statements through social media addressing current political activities and events. Known for his political career, Carter succeeded Cedric Richmond in Congress in 2021 and formerly served in the Louisiana legislature. Born in 1963 in New Orleans, Carter is a Xavier University of Louisiana alumnus.

On April 1, 2025, Carter tweeted about the ongoing debate in the Senate. He stated, "At this very moment, I’m sitting on the Senate floor in full support of my dear brother, Senator Cory Booker, as he approaches his 21st consecutive hour of powerful, principled debate. Read my thoughts here: https://t.co/2qLClUuKFM #StandWithBooker #ProtectDemocracy https://t.co/LLBAGf3xY5".

The subsequent day, on April 2, 2025, Carter expressed his views on the Wisconsin Supreme Court election results, tweeting, "Wisconsin spoke. Musk spent millions. Trump backed the bench. But the people chose justice. Susan Crawford wins. Democracy wins. #WisconsinSupremeCourt #PeopleOverMoney #DemocracyPrevails".

Later that day, he made another comment via social media about the need for unity among Americans in the face of threats to democracy, tweeting, "Americans must unite with democracy under threat https://t.co/baj54jXQfv".
