Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared a series of posts on his official X (formerly Twitter) account highlighting issues ranging from civil rights to local achievements.
On December 12, 2025, Carter posted a video clip with the caption: “WATCH: Troy Carter Asks Top-Level Trump Official Point Blank: ‘What Does… https://t.co/0GVS3LfKhi via @YouTube”.
Later that day, he addressed concerns about discrimination and profiling, writing: “No one should be profiled, chased, or mistreated simply because of the way they “look” or “sound!” @TheBlackCaucus @USProgressives @NewDemCoalition @HomelandDems https://t.co/EznQAgmplC”.
On December 13, 2025, Carter congratulated two high school teams from his district for their success in athletics and academics: “Congratulations to @EdnaKarrHS and @StAugnola on making it to the #LHSAA Division I Championships. Carter has served as the representative for Louisiana’s 2nd District since 2021 after succeeding Cedric Richmond. He previously held positions in both the Louisiana House of Representatives (1992-1994) and the Louisiana Senate (2016-2021). Born in New Orleans in 1963, Carter continues to reside there and is an alumnus of Xavier University of Louisiana.
