Congressman Troy A. Carter, representing Louisiana’s 2nd district since 2021, has been vocal on social media regarding various policy issues. His recent tweets reflect his stance on Social Security requirements and healthcare reforms.

On March 23, 2025, Congressman Carter expressed his opposition to new Social Security requirements in a tweet stating, “This is cruel! We will fight you Trump/ Musk. These are real people with real needs!” He criticized the changes for raising barriers and linked to an article discussing these new requirements.

Later that day, he tweeted about healthcare improvements made by Democrats through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). He asserted that they had lowered premiums, capped insulin costs, and enabled Medicare to negotiate drug prices. He emphasized the importance of the ACA by saying, “Fact: The Affordable Care Act saves lives.” He warned against Republican efforts to dismantle it.

On March 24, 2025, Carter shared a development related to privacy concerns involving Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump. He announced that a judge had temporarily blocked access to Americans’ personal data stored by the Social Security Administration. Carter celebrated this as a victory for privacy in his tweet: “We’re fighting back against the Musk-Trump chaos – and we’re winning!”
