Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on his social media account on August 10, 2025, addressing both personal and political topics.

In a lighthearted tweet early in the day, Carter posted about his pet: “Our dog Beaux is a human!! https://t.co/EHwMJGm3Zo” (August 10, 2025).

Later that morning, Carter criticized former President Donald Trump’s new executive order regarding federal grants. He wrote: “Trump’s new order isn’t “streamlining”—it’s sabotage. By putting political appointees in charge of federal grants, he’s blocking disaster recovery, stalling cures, and turning science into a partisan weapon. New Orleans and America deserve better.” (August 10, 2025).

In another post that evening, Carter discussed educational policy alongside Senator Cory Booker. He stated: “On Episode 4 of “What Makes America Tick?” @SenBooker and I discussed the importance of protecting access to education. As students head back to school and Trump continues targeting the Department of Education, we must stand united to support our students and ensure every child https://t.co/4onaC9f84U” (August 10, 2025).

Carter has represented Louisiana’s 2nd District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Cedric Richmond. Prior to his current role in Congress, he served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1992 to 1994 and in the Louisiana Senate from 2016 to 2021. Born in New Orleans in 1963 and currently residing there, Carter graduated with a BA from Xavier University of Louisiana in 1986.
