Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his official Twitter account between July 30 and July 31, 2025. The tweets covered topics ranging from a podcast episode featuring Senator Cory Booker to climate change policy and a congratulatory message to James Carter.

On July 30, Carter promoted an episode of his podcast featuring Senator Cory Booker: “Episode 4 of my podcast “What Makes America Tick?” features Senator @CoryBooker who is literally breaking records in his nonstop fight for the American people. This episode may not be 25 hours long, but we cover a lot — from the #BigUglyLaw and how Trump is impacting our”.

Later that day, Carter commented on recent high temperatures in New Orleans and criticized new federal environmental policies: “New Orleans has been having heat indexes of 110 degrees, but good thing Trump and Zedlin say that climate change isn’t real anymore! The @EPA just proposed a plan making climate denial official U.S. policy. More air pollution. More cancer. More deadly extreme weather. This is our”.

On July 31, he offered congratulations to James Carter for being elected President of the National Bar Association: “I want to congratulate my dear friend, the Hon. James Carter, on his election as President of the National Bar Association! James is not only my friend but also a respected leader and attorney who always puts service above self. I’m excited to watch you do great things as you”.

Carter has represented Louisiana’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Cedric Richmond in 2021. He previously served in both chambers of the Louisiana state legislature and was born and raised in New Orleans.

He holds a BA from Xavier University of Louisiana.
