Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his involvement with local organizations and community events on social media.

On March 20, 2026, Carter posted a tweet tagging several advocacy groups: @ERACoalition @ACLUofLouisiana @PowerCoEJ @HomelandDems @TheBlackCaucus @LWVLouisiana.

The following day, March 21, he shared his participation in a charitable sports event: “It was wonderful to join the #SplitSecondFoundation golf tournament! Today wasn’t just about golfing, it was about supporting those with disabilities and recommitting to building more equitable communities.”

On March 22, Carter tweeted about engaging with young people in local government: “I had a wonderful time meeting with the @CityofDville Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council. It’s great to see young people help build the communities they want to see. @ascensionparish”

Troy Carter has served as Louisiana’s 2nd District representative since replacing Cedric Richmond in 2021. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both the Louisiana House of Representatives and Senate between 1992-1994 and 2016-2021 respectively. Born in New Orleans in 1963 and currently residing there, Carter is also an alumnus of Xavier University of Louisiana.
