Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted local infrastructure and community events through a series of posts on his social media account.

On September 14, 2025, Carter shared his thoughts on transportation progress in Louisiana: “When I helped craft the #BipartisanInfrastructureLaw, this is exactly the kind of progress I envisioned. The new Mardi Gras Service Line is a game-changer for #Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. To everyone riding it to the Saints game, enjoy the trip! Who dat! “

The following day, he recognized Hispanic Heritage Month by posting: “Today marks the first day of #HispanicHeritageMonth! We’re celebrating the vibrant culture of our Hispanic communities across #LA02 and throughout our nation. American life is immeasurably richer thanks to you.” This post was made on September 15, 2025.

Later that same day, Carter attended an event at Tulane University focused on energy and commerce. He stated: “It was an honor to join @Tulane for their forum to discuss the future of Energy & Commerce and highlight the amazing research of Tulane’s students and alumni network. Louisiana is a leader in America’s energy future and I’m proud to work with our universities and as a member of”

Carter has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Cedric Richmond as representative for Louisiana’s 2nd district. He previously held seats in both the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1992 to 1994 and in the Louisiana Senate from 2016 to 2021. Born in New Orleans in 1963, Carter continues to reside there today. He graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986.
