Congressman Troy A. Carter, who has been representing Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently shared several messages on social media highlighting upcoming events and significant historical reflections.
On June 18, 2025, Congressman Carter invited his followers to an event by posting “Join us tomorrow!”
The following day, June 19, 2025, he marked Juneteenth by reflecting on its historical significance. I’m doing something about it.” He encouraged participation in a discussion with Whip Katherine Clark to discuss reproductive healthcare and amplify stories from red states.
Troy Carter’s career includes service in both the Louisiana House of Representatives and Senate before joining Congress. Born in New Orleans in 1963 and educated at Xavier University of Louisiana where he graduated with a BA in 1986.
