Troy Carter, U.S. Congressman representing Louisiana’s 2nd district since 2021, posted a series of messages on social media reflecting on community achievements and national issues.

Carter has represented Louisiana’s 2nd District in Congress since succeeding Cedric Richmond in 2021. Before his congressional tenure, he served in both chambers of Louisiana’s state legislature—from 1992 to 1994 in the House and from 2016 to 2021 in the Senate. Born in New Orleans in 1963 and a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana (BA ’86), Carter continues to reside in his hometown.
