Congressman Troy A. Carter, who represents Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of local and national issues on social media, including regional transportation developments, infrastructure concerns, and support for senior citizens.
On August 21, 2025, Carter discussed topics from a recent radio appearance: “This week on @talk1073 with @brianhaldane we discussed the new @amtrak #MardiGas service line and future plans for a track between #NOLA and #BatonRouge. We also talked about how important it is for our levees to be inspected annually, and my concern at funding cuts for this very”. He shared an additional link in a follow-up post: “https://t.co/8gzHM4YL9E”.
Later that day, Carter highlighted his advocacy for older Americans: “Today we recognize our senior citizens, or as I like to call them, seasoned citizens. They’ve given so much to our communities and deserve our deepest appreciation. Yet Trump has cut Medicaid and wants to cut Social Security, Medicare, and other programs they rely on. I’ll keep”.
