Tulane University’s baseball team has adjusted the start time for its upcoming game against UCLA due to a forecast of heavy rain in Los Angeles. The matchup, originally set for 7 p.m. CT at Jackie Robinson Stadium, will now begin at 3 p.m. CT to avoid inclement weather.
Both Tulane and UCLA enter the contest with records of 2-1. Tulane’s early season performance includes two wins out of three games, highlighted by a strong pitching display against Loyola Marymount where the team recorded 19 strikeouts—tied for the third-most in school history and the highest mark since 1972.
Kaikea Harrison currently leads Tulane with a .467 batting average and seven hits, while Jason Wachs has driven in four runs to top the team in RBIs. Pitchers J.D. Rodriguez and Beau Sampson have each tallied nine strikeouts so far this season, with Rodriguez and Jack Brafa earning wins from the bullpen.
After facing UCLA, Tulane will return home to New Orleans for its first home series of the season against Harvard from February 20-22 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The opening game is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m.
