The Tulane baseball team won its third consecutive game with a 15-5 victory over Grambling State on March 25 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The win improved Tulane’s record to 14-12 overall and 2-1 in the American Athletic Conference, while Grambling State fell to 8-15.

The game was called early after Tulane scored five runs in the seventh inning, extending its winning streak to three games and marking five wins out of the last six contests for the program. The result also kept Tulane undefeated against Grambling State all-time.

Jack Brafa started for Tulane and allowed one run over two innings with a strikeout, earning his third win of the season. Relief pitchers Blaise Wilcenski, Tom Vincent, Sam Larson, Beau Sampson, and Jude Abbadessa combined to limit Grambling’s offense across subsequent innings. Notably, Vincent struck out four batters during his appearance.

Nate Johnson led Tulane’s offense with six runs batted in (RBIs), including a grand slam in the fifth inning that pushed the Green Wave ahead by seven runs. Johnson matched his career-high for RBIs set earlier this season against South Alabama. Trent Liolios contributed four RBIs on two hits, while Kaikea Harrison reached base multiple times with two hits and three walks.

Jason Wachs extended his on-base streak to 52 games dating back to last season—a career high—by recording a hit, being hit by a pitch, and drawing a walk during the contest. The team’s relief pitchers have performed strongly over recent games as well: they have thrown more than fifty-four innings while allowing only fourteen runs across nine games.

Looking ahead, Tulane will travel for a conference series against UAB from March 27–29 at Young Memorial Field in Birmingham.
