The Tulane baseball team defeated Southeastern Louisiana by a score of 8-4 on April 14 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
This win brings Tulane’s record to 20-18 overall and improves their standing in home games. The victory also raises the team’s performance against in-state and Southland Conference opponents this season.
LuisPablo Navarro earned the win for Tulane, pitching the first three innings and allowing two runs. Tom Vincent followed as the first reliever, throwing three innings with four strikeouts. Jacob Moore, Jude Abbadessa, and Sam Larson also contributed from the mound, each limiting Southeastern Louisiana’s scoring opportunities in their respective appearances.
Offensively, six different Green Wave players drove in runs during the game. Trent Liolios recorded two hits and scored twice while adding an RBI. Kaikea Harrison contributed with two runs batted in, a hit, two walks, and scored twice. Other notable performances included Tye Wood with a hit and an RBI; Jason Wachs and Matthias Haas were both hit by pitches multiple times; Tanner Chun was hit by a pitch while also recording a hit and an RBI; James Agabedis had a hit, an RBI, and drew a walk.
Tulane started strong by scoring five runs in the opening inning through timely hitting combined with errors from Southeastern Louisiana’s defense. The visiting team responded with home runs from Alex Perry and Justin Williams but could not close the gap further as Tulane continued to add to its lead throughout the game.
With this result, Tulane improved its record to 14-6 at home this year as well as achieving positive records against both in-state rivals (5-2) and Southland Conference teams (4-3). The Green Wave are now set to resume conference play on the road against Florida Atlantic later this week.
