The Tulane baseball team, currently holding a 13-12 record, will wrap up its nine-game homestand by hosting Grambling State (8-14) in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, March 25 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start.
This midweek contest features Tulane coming off two consecutive wins and marks the end of an extended stretch of home games. Fans attending Wednesday’s game can also participate in the “Bark in the Park” promotion. The matchup will be broadcast on ESPN+, with radio coverage provided by Corey Gloor on WRBH 88.3 FM and Varsity Network beginning fifteen minutes before first pitch.
Tulane will send junior right-handed pitcher Jack Brafa to the mound for his fourth start and tenth appearance this season. Brafa has compiled a 2-0 record with a 3.86 earned run average, striking out twenty-one batters over sixteen and one-third innings while limiting opponents to a .193 batting average. Grambling State has not yet announced its starting pitcher.
Grambling State enters the game after sweeping Alabama A&M in conference play and boasts a strong start within the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), led offensively by Hasani Johnson (.338 batting average), Charles Ashe III (.385 batting average), Cameron Hill (.337 batting average), and Julio VasQuez (six home runs). The Tigers are under fifth-year head coach Davin Pierre.
Historically, Tulane holds an undefeated record against Grambling State at 3-0 since their first meeting in 1983, including their most recent win in March of last year. Against SWAC teams overall, Tulane is dominant with a historical record of 73-6.
Following this game, Tulane will return to league play with an away series against UAB from March 27 through March 29.
