The Tulane baseball team will continue its road trip with a non-conference game against Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, on April 7. The Green Wave, currently holding a 17-16 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the American Athletic Conference, recently won two out of three games against Wichita State.
This matchup is significant as both teams look to improve their standings during the midseason stretch. Tulane leads the all-time series against Lamar 14-7 since their first meeting in 1973. In their last encounter, Lamar defeated Tulane by a score of 14-4 on March 18, 2025.
The upcoming game will be broadcast on ESPN+, with radio coverage available through WRBH 88.3 FM and Varsity Network starting fifteen minutes before first pitch at Vincent-Beck Stadium. Neither team has announced a starting pitcher for the contest.
Lamar enters the game with an overall record of 17-15 but is currently on a four-game losing streak following losses to TCU and Oregon State. The Cardinals are coached by Will Davis, who is in his tenth year leading the program with an all-time record of 272-221.
Several Tulane players have shown strong performances recently. Jason Wachs has reached base safely in all thirty-three games this season and holds an ongoing streak of fifty-nine consecutive games reaching base dating back to last season. Tye Wood has been effective over the past five games with eight hits and two home runs while Kaikea Harrison continues to contribute both offensively and defensively.
Pitcher Jake Toporek was named to the American Conference’s Weekly Honor Roll after helping secure a series win over Wichita State by pitching more than five innings without allowing any runs or walks.
Looking ahead, Tulane will return home for another conference matchup against East Carolina from April 10–12 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
