The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) has assigned the 17th-ranked Tulane bowling team to compete in the Fort Worth sectional qualifier at Cityview Lanes. The announcement, made during a live broadcast on BowlTV, detailed that 80 women’s and men’s teams will participate in the USBC Intercollegiate Team Sectionals scheduled for March 14 and 15.
Sectional qualifiers will be held in four locations: Fort Worth, Texas; Addison, Illinois; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Smyrna, Tennessee. The top four teams from each location will move on to the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championship in April in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Each team at the sectionals will play 64 Baker games over two days. Alongside the team competition, individual qualifiers for the Intercollegiate Singles Championships (ISC) will take place at each site on March 13. Student-athletes will bowl six games each, with a total of 24 bowlers advancing—comprised of the top four from each sectional and eight additional individuals based on field size—to compete in Green Bay.
Tulane’s opponents in Fort Worth include Avila, Iowa Central CC, Judson, No. 5 Louisiana Tech, Missouri Baptist, Morningside, No. 15 Newman, No. 12 North Carolina A&T, Northwestern Ohio, Oklahoma Christian, Ottawa-Kansas, Peru State, Saint Xavier, Southern Nazarene, St. Francis-Illinois, Texas A&M and UTSA. Louisiana Tech is also a Conference USA member and one of three other ranked teams present at this sectional.
Before heading to sectionals next month, Tulane’s team is set to participate in the TNBA Open hosted by The National Bowling Association from February 27 to March 1 in Baton Rouge.
