The Tulane Green Wave women’s bowling team lost to Vanderbilt in the opening round of the 2026 Conference USA Bowling Championship on March 18 at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, Louisiana. Tulane, ranked No. 17 and seeded No. 11, was defeated by the No. 2 ranked and seeded Commodores with a score of 2-0.
This match is significant as it marks the start of Tulane’s campaign in the double-elimination championship format, meaning the team still has a chance to continue competing despite this initial loss.
The contest began with a traditional match where Vanderbilt narrowly won, scoring 977 against Tulane’s 953. Mia Stolakis led Tulane with a score of 221, while Juanelyz Solla and Paige Matiasek posted scores just under 200. Valeria Colon contributed with a score of 186, and Sarah Rubi rounded out the lineup with a score of 149.
In the Baker round that followed, Vanderbilt secured victory by winning 1,115-1,007. Although Tulane managed to rally in the third game with a strong performance (249-205), Vanderbilt ultimately finished ahead after taking three out of five games in this portion.
Because the championship uses a double-elimination format, Tulane will move into the contenders’ bracket for another chance to advance. The Green Wave is scheduled to play again tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m., facing either Arkansas State or Youngstown State on lanes 13-14.
Tickets for upcoming men’s and women’s basketball and baseball games are available through various channels including phone and online sales at TulaneTix.com or at the James W. Wilson Jr. Center ticket office.
