The Tulane Green Wave women’s bowling team, ranked 17th nationally, will compete in the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Singles and Team Championships (ISC and ITC) sectional qualifiers at Cityview Lanes in Fort Worth, Texas, starting March 13.
This event is significant as it offers teams and individuals a chance to advance to national championships. Tulane is one of 18 squads participating at the Fort Worth location, joining other ranked teams such as Louisiana Tech, Newman, and North Carolina A&T. The competition includes both singles and team events over three days.
The singles event begins Friday afternoon with student-athletes bowling six games. The team competition follows on Saturday and Sunday, featuring 64 Baker games split into four sessions across two days. The final session on Sunday will determine standings before an awards presentation later that day. Tulane’s singles lineup includes Emma Figert, Sarah Rubi, Paige Matiasek, Linnea Holcomb, Juanelyz Solla, and Mia Stolakis.
Advancement from sectionals is determined by performance: the top four individual finishers from each site move on to the ISC finals along with eight additional bowlers based on field size; the top four teams from each sectional qualify for the ITC finals. Both championship events are scheduled for April in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Select matches will be broadcast live on BowlTV.
Tulane aims to return to national finals for the first time since 2024 when Morgan Gitlitz competed individually and the team qualified for ITC play. Before heading to nationals, Tulane will host the Conference USA Bowling Championship next week at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, Louisiana. The NCAA Championship Regionals are set for early April.
Looking ahead, these competitions provide opportunities for Tulane athletes to showcase their skills at both conference and national levels.
