Tulane University remained at No. 17 in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Coaches Poll, according to a March 16 announcement. This marks the third consecutive poll in which Tulane has held this position, after starting the season ranked No. 19 and moving up to No. 17 in December.
The NTCA poll is significant as it reflects national standings and competitive progress for collegiate bowling teams. All twelve members of Conference USA are included in the top 25, with Jacksonville State securing unanimous first-place honors.
Tulane’s current record stands at 54-37, with an NTCA power index ranking of 0.56534, placing them nineteenth nationally. The team has achieved twenty-one wins against ranked opponents this season, including eleven victories over top-ten teams.
Mia Stolakis leads Tulane’s roster, ranking nineteenth nationally with a player composite performance index of 88.919 percent and recording a team-high of 415 strikes. Stolakis is also seventh in the country for both tenth frame scoring average and tenth frame double percentage. Teammates Sarah Rubi and Valeria Colon have each surpassed two hundred fifty strikes this season, while Linnea Holcomb has posted one of the lowest split leave percentages nationwide in Baker format play.
Recently, Tulane qualified for the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships by finishing fourth at the Fort Worth sectional event. The team will compete for that title in April in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Next on their schedule is hosting the Conference USA Bowling Championship at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, Louisiana from March 18 through March 22.
