Tulane University’s men’s basketball team is set to face UAB at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. The Green Wave will attempt to extend their winning streak to six games and continue their strong start in conference play. If Tulane wins, it would mark their first 4-0 start in conference play since the 1996-97 season.

The matchup between Tulane and UAB will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to live coverage through the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 106.7 The Ticket, or stream via the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This game marks the 42nd meeting between Tulane and UAB, with Tulane trailing in the all-time series 14-27. Last season, each team won its home game, with Tulane defeating UAB 85-68 in New Orleans during the regular season finale on March 9, 2025. That win ended a seven-game home losing streak for Tulane against UAB.

In their most recent game, Tulane defeated UTSA 85-52 on January 10, securing a fifth consecutive victory and marking their first 3-0 start in conference play since the late nineties. During that game, Tulane made a program-record 19 three-pointers, which also tied an American Conference record for threes made in a single contest—a mark previously achieved by Memphis and UTSA in earlier seasons.

Rowan Brumbaugh led the team with a game-high of 23 points against UTSA, including six three-pointers. He also contributed seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Following this performance, Brumbaugh received an honorable mention from the American Conference weekly awards for a second straight week.

UAB enters Wednesday’s matchup with an overall record of 11-6 and a conference record of 2-2 after an overtime win against East Carolina on January 11. The Blazers currently lead the American Athletic Conference in fastbreak points (16.53 per game), fouls per game (15), and defensive rebounds per game (28.18). Five players from UAB are averaging double-digit points this season; Chance Westry leads them with an average of just over fifteen points per game.

On the road this season, UAB has posted a record of three wins and two losses overall—winning both of its league away games—and averages just over eighty points scored while allowing eighty-six points per contest.

After facing UAB, Tulane will host North Texas on Sunday, January 18 at Uptown beginning at 4 p.m., with television coverage scheduled for ESPN2.

Tickets are available by phone at 504-861-WAVE (9283), online at TulaneTix.com or directly from the ticket office located at James W. Wilson Jr. Center.
