Tulane men’s basketball was defeated by Wichita State 75-61 on Sunday at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave, now with a record of 13-10 overall and 4-6 in conference play, struggled to keep pace offensively against the Shockers, who improved to 15-9 overall and 7-4 in league games.

Wichita State outscored Tulane both in points in the paint (42-32) and bench production (23-10), which proved decisive. With this loss, Tulane’s home record dropped to 8-6 for the season and 1-4 against conference opponents at Uptown. This marks the team’s fourth straight home defeat, their longest such streak since losing five consecutive home games between January and February of 2020.

Rowan Brumbaugh led Tulane with 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Tyler Ringgold added 13 points along with three rebounds and two assists. No other Tulane player reached double figures in scoring.

The first half saw eight lead changes within the opening eleven minutes before Wichita State went on a run to lead by as many as seven points late in the period. Luke Rasmussen scored just before halftime to reduce Tulane’s deficit to five points at intermission.

In the second half, Wichita State quickly extended its lead, eventually building an advantage of eighteen points with under nine minutes remaining. Tulane responded with a nine-point run but could not narrow the gap further.

Tulane will next face Temple at home on Wednesday, February 11 at 6:30 p.m., with coverage available on ESPN+.
