Tulane University’s men’s basketball team will travel to Denton, Texas, on Thursday for a rematch against North Texas. The Green Wave is looking to secure its third consecutive win after defeating UAB 55-54 in Birmingham on February 15. In that game, Tulane limited UAB to season lows in points and field goals made, with Rowan Brumbaugh scoring 17 points, Asher Woods adding 14, and Scotty Middleton contributing 12.
The upcoming matchup marks the eighth meeting between Tulane and North Texas. Tulane trails the series 2-5 and lost the previous encounter this season at home by a score of 63-71 on January 18. On the road against North Texas, Tulane holds a record of 1-2 but has not won in Denton since January 11, 2014.
This season, Tulane has performed well in away games with a record of 5-2 overall and 4-2 in league play. The team averages over 72 points per game while shooting nearly 45 percent from the field and almost 36 percent from three-point range during road contests. Rowan Brumbaugh leads Tulane’s offense on the road with an average of 22 points per game.
North Texas comes into Thursday’s game following a three-game winning streak and an overall record of 15-11. The Mean Green are strong defensively, leading their conference in scoring defense, steals per game, and turnovers forced per contest. Offensively, Je’shawn Stevenson averages nearly 17 points per game while David Terrell Jr. contributes just under 13.

After facing North Texas, Tulane will return home to play Rice on Sunday, February 22.
