Tulane men’s basketball ended its 2025-26 season on March 12 after a 60-74 defeat to Charlotte in the second round of the American Conference Championship. The game, held in Birmingham, Alabama, saw Tulane unable to keep pace with Charlotte’s offense in the second half.
The result concludes Tulane’s season with an overall record of 18-15 and a 1-1 mark in the conference tournament. The Green Wave has now won at least one game in the American Championship for the sixth time since joining the league in 2014 and for the fifth time under Head Coach Ron Hunter.
Rowan Brumbaugh led Tulane’s scoring efforts with 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including three three-pointers. This performance marked his thirty-first double-digit scoring game of the season and his eleventh game with at least twenty points. Brumbaugh also contributed two rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Asher Woods added fourteen points—twelve of which came in the second half—and made all nine of his free throw attempts while collecting five rebounds. Curtis Williams Jr. led Tulane with eight rebounds and scored eight points.
Both teams struggled offensively during a defensive first half, but Tulane managed to take a narrow lead into halftime by holding Charlotte to just 14.7 percent shooting from the field and limiting them to their second lowest first-half point total this season. However, Charlotte responded after halftime with an eighteen-point run that put them ahead for good.
Despite efforts to close the gap late in the game, Tulane was unable to recover from Charlotte’s surge and ultimately finished its campaign with a loss.
