Tulane men’s tennis defeats Southern 7-0 at Goldring Tennis Center

The Tulane men’s tennis team defeated Southern University 7-0 on March 20 at the Goldring Tennis Center in New Orleans.

This win brings Tulane’s season record to 6-7, while Southern remains winless at 0-11. The Green Wave secured the doubles point after Asaf Friedler and AJ Mercer won their match at No. 3 doubles, followed by Hady ElKordy and Alec Gaudin clinching another victory for Tulane.

In singles play, Tulane swept all six matches. Alec Gaudin, Daniel Phillips, and Steven Rice were among the first to finish their matches, helping secure the overall victory for the Green Wave. Other singles winners included Hady ElKordy, Andres Delgadillo, and Lance Nisbet.

Tulane is scheduled to face conference opponent Rice University, ranked No. 60 with an 8-6 record, on Sunday at 1 p.m. The match will take place at Goldring Tennis Center and will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Paul Boron providing commentary.

The team’s performance continues to build momentum as they progress through their season.
