Tulane University’s men’s tennis team concluded its participation at the Diablos Collegiate Invitational in Tempe, Arizona, on Saturday with two losses against ranked opponents. The Green Wave narrowly lost to #64 Washington 4-3 and then fell to #68 Boise State 4-1.

The team’s overall record for the season now stands at 3-5. Tulane has shown strength in doubles matches this spring, achieving a 13-5 record in that format.

In the match against Washington, which resumed after Tulane secured the doubles point on Friday night, Daniel Phillips and Lance Nisbet each won their singles matches in three sets at positions one and six. Five of the singles matches went to three sets, reflecting close competition.

Against Boise State, Tulane lost the doubles point but continued to compete closely in singles play. Four of those contests required a third set. Asaf Friedler and Alec Gaudin won their respective singles matches at positions two and three. However, Boise State secured victories at positions four, five, and six to clinch the match.

Tulane is scheduled to host Florida Atlantic on Thursday for its first-ever competition at Goldring Tennis Center. Florida Atlantic currently holds a 4-3 record for the 2025-26 season.
