Tulane prepares for conference championship after closing indoor season at LSU Twilight

The Tulane track and field team will finish its indoor regular season at the LSU Twilight meet on Friday, held at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse in Baton Rouge. This event serves as the final preparation before next week’s American Conference Indoor Championship.

Ten programs are scheduled to participate in the LSU Twilight, including Tulane, Hinds Community College, Dillard, Kentucky, LeTourneau, LSU (the host), Meridian Community College, Southeast Louisiana, Shelton State Community College, and St. Thomas (Texas).

Competition starts with field events. The women’s weight throw begins at 9:00 a.m., featuring Quin Tandeih from Tulane. The women’s shot put follows at 11:00 a.m., where Sofia Caruso and Alyssa Dismuke will represent Tulane.

Track events start at 12:30 p.m. with the women’s 60-meter hurdles. Tulane’s first track entry is in the men’s 60 meters at 1:00 p.m., with Andrew Bamberg, Jay Bowles, and Christian McQuire competing. Other races involving Tulane athletes include the women’s 500 meters, women’s mile, men’s 400 meters, women’s 800 meters, men’s 200 meters, and women’s 3,000 meters.

After this meet, Tulane will shift focus to defending its title as last year’s women’s conference champion during the American Conference Indoor Championship in Birmingham, Alabama on February 27 and February 28.
