Tulane men’s basketball overcame a 15-point deficit in the second half to defeat North Texas 77-71 in Denton, Texas, on Thursday night. The Green Wave ended the game with an 8-0 run, highlighted by Tyler Ringgold’s go-ahead put-back layup with just over a minute and a half remaining.

The win marked Tulane’s first victory over North Texas since 2014 and broke a five-game losing streak against the Mean Green. Tulane now holds a 6-2 record on the road this season, including 5-2 in conference play.

Five Tulane players scored in double figures for only the third time this season. Rowan Brumbaugh led with 17 points, shooting 50 percent from the field and making seven of eight free throws. Asher Woods added 16 points and contributed four key points in the final minute to help secure the win.

Scotty Middleton finished with 15 points, hitting four three-pointers and collecting six rebounds. Tyler Ringgold had 12 points along with five rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks. Curtis Williams Jr. scored 11 points—including the basket that tied the game late—while also recording three steals and two blocks.

Tulane started strong but fell behind after North Texas went on a run late in the first half to take a halftime lead of 38-34. In the second half, North Texas extended its advantage to as much as fifteen before Tulane began their comeback.

The Green Wave gradually closed the gap, tying the game at 65 following consecutive three-pointers by Middleton and Woods. After trading baskets, Tulane tied it again at 71 before taking control during their closing run. Williams’ floater evened the score before Ringgold’s layup gave them the lead for good; Woods then secured victory with additional late points.

Tulane will return home to face Rice on Sunday, February 22 at 1 p.m., with coverage available on ESPN+.
