Tulane University’s baseball team overcame a six-run deficit to secure an 11-9 win against Harvard on Saturday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The victory brings Tulane’s season record to 4-2, while Harvard falls to 0-2.

Pitcher Aiden Rath was credited with the win after delivering a scoreless seventh inning in relief. Rath entered the game with Tulane trailing 8-6 and managed to prevent further runs despite a runner on second base and no outs. Following his performance, Tulane’s offense produced four runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. Tom Vincent closed out the game for his first save of the season, pitching two innings and allowing one run and one hit while recording a strikeout. In total, Tulane used seven pitchers during the game as they navigated around 24 base runners allowed by their staff.

Offensively, Tanner Chun led Tulane with three hits, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Jason Wachs contributed two hits and two RBIs, extending his on-base streak to 32 games—a personal best—dating back to last season. Nolan Nawrocki scored three times for Tulane, while Matthias Haas added two RBIs. Kaikea Harrison has now recorded at least one hit in every game this season.

Harvard took an early lead by scoring twice in the first inning and adding four more runs in the second before Chun’s single put Tulane on the board. After falling behind 8-2 through six innings, Tulane responded with five runs over the next two frames—highlighted by RBI singles from Wachs and Chun as well as doubles from Chun and Haas—to close the gap.

The Green Wave moved ahead for good with another four-run rally in the seventh inning that included a bases-loaded walk drawn by Chun and an RBI groundout from Haas. Although Harvard narrowed it to a one-run margin in the eighth inning thanks to Ryan Mooney’s RBI single, Tye Wood delivered an insurance run for Tulane with a sacrifice fly in their half of that frame.

With this result, Tulane improves its all-time record against Harvard to 2-1.

Tulane will conclude its series against Harvard on Sunday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
