Tulane University senior pitcher Trey Cehajic has been named to the Preseason First Team All-Conference by Perfect Game. Last season, Cehajic recorded a 5-2 win-loss record with a 4.89 earned run average and struck out 57 batters over 57 innings. He made 15 appearances, including 13 starts, and led Tulane’s starting pitchers in both ERA and victories.

Cehajic is the third Tulane player recognized as Preseason All-Conference this off-season, joining Matthias Haas and Jason Wachs.

Tulane baseball recently reached the American Conference Championship Game for the third year in a row. Over the last ten years, the team has won nine of its past ten conference tournament games, claiming two league titles and earning NCAA Tournament berths.

In the previous season, Tulane finished with a 33-25 record and had five players receive All-Conference honors: Michael Lombardi (first team), Connor Rasmussen (first team), Gavin Schulz (second team), Jason Wachs (All-Freshman), and Tanner Chun (All-Freshman). Three players were also named to the All-Tournament Team and two to the LSWA All-State Team. Additionally, Michael Lombardi was selected in the second round of the MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals, Tayler Montiel went in the twelfth round to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Connor Rasmussen was chosen in the fifteenth round by Kansas City.

The upcoming season will see Tulane hosting 27 games at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium along with one neutral-site game in Mississippi and playing 28 road contests across seven states. The schedule includes matchups against several teams that participated in last year’s NCAA Tournament: Southern Miss, UTSA, Creighton, East Carolina, TCU, Mississippi State, UCLA, and LSU.

The Green Wave will begin their season on February 13 with a three-game series at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles—their first road opener since 2023. The home opener is scheduled for February 20 against Harvard.
