Tulane University sailing finished in third place among four teams at the Tulane Women’s Team Race held on Lake Pontchartrain, according to an announcement on Apr. 5.
The result highlights the Green Wave’s performance during a weekend regatta that featured five rounds of round robin racing. The event is significant as it brings together collegiate women’s sailing teams and provides competitive experience for student-athletes.
Tulane posted a 5-10 record across the five rounds, securing four victories over Old Dominion and one win against College of Charleston. The team was represented by skippers Oakley Cunningham, Ava Anderson, and Gabriella Vassel, along with crews Hope Breslin, Cate Anderson, Ella May Corckran, Caitlin Briggs, and Charlotte Casey.
Looking ahead, Tulane will participate in two upcoming events: the Thompson Trophy Open Team Race in New London, Connecticut and the Truxtun Umsted Open Fleet Race in Annapolis, Maryland scheduled for April 11-12.
The results from this regatta provide momentum as Tulane prepares for future competitions.
