Tulane University sailing will compete in two regattas on April 11-12, sending teams to events in New London, Connecticut, and Annapolis, Maryland.
The Green Wave is participating in the Thompson Trophy Open Team Race hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy and the Truxtun Umsted Open Fleet Race hosted by Navy. These competitions provide Tulane sailors with opportunities to race against some of the top collegiate programs.
At the Thompson Trophy Open Team Race on the Thames River, Tulane will be one of 16 teams racing. The event includes a round robin among all teams followed by additional rounds based on standings. Racing begins at approximately 10 a.m. Central Time on Saturday and resumes at 9 a.m. Central Time on Sunday.
In Annapolis, Maryland, another group from Tulane will take part in the Truxtun Umsted Open Fleet Race against 17 other schools. This regatta is scheduled for an early start at about 8:30 a.m. Central Time both days and features a total of 14 races.
