Tulane University sailing won both the SEISA Team Race Conference Championships with an undefeated record, according to an April 3 announcement. The Green Wave secured victories in both the women’s and open championship regattas.
The achievement marks the fifth consecutive year that Tulane has swept these conference titles. The team’s performance highlights their continued dominance in collegiate sailing competitions.
In the SEISA Women’s Team Race Championship, Tulane faced Texas A&M and finished with a perfect 6-0 record. Skippers Oakley Cunningham, Ava Anderson, and Gabriella Vassel competed alongside crews Hope Breslin, Cate Anderson, and Caitlin Briggs to secure the title for Tulane against the Aggies.
The following day on Lake Pontchartrain, Tulane competed in the SEISA Open Team Race Conference Championship against teams from Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas A&M – Galveston. Skippers Kelly Holthus, Christian Ebbin, and Hamilton Barclay sailed with crews Jonah Wozniak, Hope Breslin, and Taylor Bartell as they won three races against each opponent for a total of nine victories without a loss.
Looking ahead, Tulane will finish competition in the Tulane Women’s Team Race on Lake Pontchartrain before traveling to New London for the Thompson Trophy Open Team Race and Annapolis for the Truxtun Umsted Open Fleet Race on April 11-12.
