The Tulane swimming team will participate in the CSCAA National Invitational Championships from March 12-14 at the FAST Facility in Ocala, Florida. Eleven athletes from Tulane are set to compete in the event, which begins on Thursday.
The competition will feature awards for the top team in each gender and for the top three finishers in individual and relay events. Each athlete is allowed to compete in up to four individual events over the three days. Swimmers entered in the 1650 freestyle will also be automatically entered into the 1000 freestyle, with scoring opportunities in both races. Most individual events will have preliminary rounds leading to A and B finals, while relay and distance events follow specific formats.
Tulane’s competitors include Danielle Barberie, Lise Coetzee, Nicole Fant, Paula Gaya Bisquerra, Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou, Ebba Holgersson, Phoebe Johnson, Mary Kate Kupsky, Eliza Lennox, Gwen Shahboz, and Marin Shimkus. The schedule outlines preliminaries each morning and finals each evening across a range of swimming disciplines.
In their previous outing at the 2026 American Conference Swimming Championships, Tulane finished fifth overall with 905.50 points. The team secured one event victory and five medal finishes. Notable performances included Lise Coetzee winning the 200 freestyle and placing second in the 500 freestyle; Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou finishing as runner-up in the 200 butterfly; Eliza Lennox taking third place in the 100 freestyle; and a third-place finish by the relay team of Coetzee, Andrea Zeebe, Phoebe Johnson, and Rafaela Sumida.
