Tulane University reported on Mar. 28 that its track and field team concluded the Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track Facility with three top-10 finishes. The event marked a successful outing for several athletes, including a record-setting performance in the women’s 400-meter hurdles.

The meet was significant for Tulane as it showcased strong individual performances across both field and track events. These results contribute to the team’s momentum as they prepare for upcoming competitions.

Presley Wolfe achieved Tulane’s highest finish of the day by placing fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.72 meters. Cara Salsberry secured ninth place in the hammer throw, recording a distance of 57.46 meters—her second-best career mark at Tulane following her previous week’s result. On the track, Zaria Parker finished eighth in the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 24.09 seconds, while Nahema Dumonteil Cabanas posted a time of 1:00.69 in the women’s 400-meter hurdles, earning her fifteenth place overall and ranking her eighth all-time in program history for that event.

Additional highlights included performances from relay teams and middle-distance runners on both men’s and women’s squads. The women’s 4×100 meter relay team placed twenty-fourth, while four athletes competed in the women’s 800 meters led by Elena Liano-Rengel who finished thirty-fifth with a time of 2:09.70. On the men’s side, Roman Schrader led five runners in the men’s 800 meters with his ninety-first-place finish at 1:53.33.

Looking ahead, Tulane’s track and field season continues next weekend at the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State University from April 2 onward.
