Tulane University’s indoor track and field team concluded its weekend with strong results at two separate events, the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston and the Music City Challenge in Nashville. Across both meets, five athletes achieved top-10 program marks while five others set new personal bests.

At Boston University Track & Tennis Center, Elena Liano-Rengel ran a 4:45.74 mile to place 20th, recording the sixth-best time in Tulane’s history. Her performance also established a new Spanish U23 women’s indoor mile record. In the 3,000 meters, Blezzin Kimutai posted a 9:22.27—just short of her personal best but still the fourth-best time for the program. Freshman Dana Rojas Vazquez completed the event in 9:34.45 to finish 73rd, earning seventh on Tulane’s all-time list.

Alex Sharp and Haley Harper entered Tulane’s top-10 in the 5,000 meters with times of 16:38.09 and 16:47.90, ranking third and fourth all-time for the program, respectively.

Other notable performances included Maria Alduan achieving a personal best of 2:12.83 in the 800 meters to place 50th, Reese Ragland setting a new personal mark of 4:48.10 in the mile, and Allison Hall improving her best to 9:42.93 in the 3,000 meters.

In Nashville at Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility during Saturday’s Music City Challenge events, Nahema Dumonteil Cabanas finished second in the 400 meters with a personal best of 56.68 seconds, narrowly behind Lipscomb’s Savannah Nuetzel (56.43). Presley Wolfe matched her own pole vault record at 4.05 meters to tie for fourth overall and maintain her position as sixth-best in program history. Zaria Parker reached the semifinals of the women’s 60 meters with a time of 7.63 but did not advance to finals.

Looking ahead, Tulane will participate in LSU Twilight on February 20 as their final preparation before competing for another American Conference Indoor Championship title.
