Tulane University’s track and field team will compete at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee, this weekend. The meet will be held at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility and is hosted by Vanderbilt University.
The competition begins on Friday with the heptathlon 60 meters hurdles at 9:00 a.m., followed by additional heptathlon and pentathlon events. Field events start at 10:00 a.m. with the weight throw, while running events begin at 4:00 p.m. with the 600 meters. On Saturday, the schedule resumes with the conclusion of heptathlon events at 8:30 a.m., field events starting at 9:00 a.m. with the high jump, and running events beginning at noon with the 60 meters preliminaries.
Tulane will have its largest group of athletes so far this season participating in this meet, bringing a total of 35 competitors—11 men and 24 women.
After this weekend, Tulane’s track and field team will not compete next weekend but will return for two meets to close out January. The team is scheduled to take part in both the Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville and the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston on January 30 and 31.
