The Tulane outdoor track and field team will compete in the 44 Farms Team Invitational hosted by Texas A&M, beginning April 9 and continuing through Saturday, April 11, at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas.

The meet is a significant event for Tulane as it provides athletes with opportunities to improve their marks ahead of the conference championships. The competition will feature primarily women’s events for Tulane across all three days.

Action starts Thursday with Sofie Groeninger participating in the women’s heptathlon. Cara Salsberry is set to compete in both discus and hammer throw events, while Brianna Brand will take part in the long jump. On the track side, Zaria Parker and Marissa Gordon are scheduled for the 200 meters; Nahema Dumonteil Cabanas will run the 400-meter hurdles; Maria Alduan, Eliza Brand, and Jasper Newton are entered into both the 800- and 1,500-meter races.

Saturday’s events include Ali Saunders competing in javelin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Aiden Yang representing one of two men’s entries for Tulane in men’s javelin at 1:00 p.m. Camille Cummings and Presley Wolfe are slated for pole vault competitions. Dumonteil Cabanas and Gordon return to race in the women’s 400 meters; Brianna Brand and Parker are set for the women’s 100 meters alongside Lee Hariss who will run in the men’s event.

In their previous outing at Raleigh Relays two weeks ago, Salsberry achieved a discus throw that ranks third-best all-time for Tulane (48.22m). Alex Sharp and Allison Hall posted top-eight program times in the women’s steeplechase while Gilbert Rono recorded a top-seven time for Tulane history over 1,500 meters. Silas Kiptanui’s performance of 8:29.21 ranks second nationally this season for steeplechase.

Blezzin Kimutai finished thirteenth with a time of 15:54.81 during a rain-affected women’s five-kilometer race—currently placing her thirty-eighth nationally—and earned American Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honors on March 31.

Looking ahead, Tulane plans to split its squad next week between California’s Bryan Clay Invitational (April 16–18) hosted by Azusa Pacific University and Houston’s Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational (April17–18) before closing out regular season action prior to mid-May’s American Conference Outdoor Championships.
