Tulane women’s bowling finishes day two at Flyer Classic as No.13 seed

The Tulane University women’s bowling team, ranked 17th nationally, finished the second day of the Flyer Classic in Lockport, Illinois, with a 2-3 record. The event took place at Strike & Spare II and determined seeding for the tournament’s bracket phase.

Tulane opened Saturday with a loss to No. 11 Sacred Heart by a score of 1,020-921. The team then defeated Oklahoma Christian 1,024-994 before falling to Quincy University 1,002-978. A win over Western Illinois followed, with Tulane scoring 960 to Western Illinois’ 871. The day ended with a loss to No. 7 Youngstown State, 1,029-954.

Mia Stolakis led Tulane’s performance on Saturday by finishing in 21st place individually. She scored a total of 1,043 pins and bowled over 200 in each game for an average of 208.60 across five games (213-200-213-202-215).

Other notable performances included Sarah Rubi in 37th place with a total pinfall of 987 and an average of 197.40 (188-205-192-198-204). Linnea Holcomb was in 51st position after scoring 958 pins (155-214-206-204-179), averaging 191.60 per game. Valeria Colon finished in 62nd place with a score of 927 (182‑217‑194‑160‑174) and an average of 185.40, while Juanelyz Solla rounded out the Tulane bowlers in the standings at 64th with a total score of 922 (183‑188‑173‑196‑182), averaging 184.40.

With these results from two qualifying rounds complete, Tulane secured the No.13 seed among the field of twenty-six teams for Sunday’s bracket play featuring three best-of-seven Baker matches. The Green Wave will face Wisconsin–Whitewater, seeded No.14.
