Tulane University’s women’s golf team is currently in sixth place after the second round of the Puerto Rico Iguana Invitational. The tournament, held in Humacao, saw Tulane drop one position on Wednesday as the team posted a score of 304 (+16) for the day.
Sophomore Francesca Pompa was a standout performer, moving up six spots to tie for third on the individual leaderboard. She shot a 70 (-2) in her second round and recorded five birdies, bringing her total to nine for the tournament. This number ties her for first among all competitors in birdies so far. Pompa’s combined score over two rounds is 145 (+1).
Gabriella Gilrowski finished tied for 22nd overall after shooting a 79 (+7) in her second round, with a two-round total of 153 (+9). Cristina Albertazzi holds a tie for 34th with a score of 156 (+12) after two rounds.
Other Tulane players include Sophia Chen, who is tied for 41st at 158 (+14), and Tonka Zacharovska, who sits at 44th place with a score of 165 (+21).
The Green Wave will conclude their participation in the event with the final round scheduled for Thursday, March 5.
