Tulane University’s women’s basketball team secured a 71-58 win over Temple University on Tuesday night at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia. With this victory, Tulane improved its season record to 7-10 overall and 2-3 in the American Athletic Conference, while Temple fell to 7-9 and 1-3 in conference play.

Tulane led throughout most of the game, shooting 44.4 percent from the field and making eight three-pointers at a rate of 38.1 percent. In comparison, Temple shot 32.1 percent overall and made five three-pointers at a rate of 21.7 percent. Tulane also outrebounded Temple 39-31 and had a slight edge in second-chance points with a margin of four.

Three Tulane players scored in double figures. Kanija Daniel led with 19 points, setting a career high with seven rebounds along with two blocks, one steal, and an assist. Mecailin Marshall contributed 17 points, two assists, and four rebounds. Freshman Shiloh Kimpson added ten points for her first time reaching double digits this season and provided two assists as well.

Dyllan Hanna recorded ten rebounds during the game, surpassing the milestone of 500 career rebounds. Kendall Sneed led Tulane with seven assists; she has achieved at least six assists in four out of five conference games so far this season.

The contest began with a three-pointer from Sneed to put Tulane on the scoreboard first. Although Temple managed to tie the game twice during the third quarter—once at 41-41—the Green Wave quickly regained control each time. After briefly falling behind for only twelve seconds late in the third quarter, Tulane closed out that period ahead by four points.

In the fourth quarter, Amira Mabry hit a three-pointer that sparked an offensive run for Tulane. The team pulled away in the final minutes and secured its win by converting free throws down the stretch.

Tulane will return home to face UAB on Saturday, January 17 at Avron B. Fogelman Arena; tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., with live streaming available via ESPN+.
