The Tulane Green Wave women’s basketball team will host the Charlotte 49ers on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse, coinciding with National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The event will feature an all-women on-air talent crew for the ESPN+ broadcast, and fans can also listen to the game via WRBH 88.3 FM or through the Varsity Network App.

This meeting marks the 29th time Tulane and Charlotte have faced each other, with Tulane leading the series 18-10. The Green Wave has won their last three games against Charlotte, including a 79-58 victory in their previous matchup last season in Charlotte. Both teams have shared multiple conference affiliations over the years and reunited as conference opponents when Charlotte joined the American Athletic Conference for the 2023-24 season.

Charlotte enters the contest with a record of 9-13 overall and 3-6 in conference play, currently experiencing a three-game losing streak after falling to East Carolina at home, 67-61, on January 30. The team’s scoring average stands at 64 points per game, with a shooting percentage of 37.3%. They are averaging just over 40 rebounds per game but turn over the ball approximately 17 times each contest. Princess Anderson leads Charlotte in scoring with an average of 14 points per game, while Asianae Nicholson is the top rebounder with just over nine boards per game.

Tulane holds an overall record of 8-12 and is currently 3-5 within league play after an overtime loss to Temple, finishing at 67-65. The team averages nearly 70 points per game while shooting just above forty percent from the field. With roughly forty rebounds per contest, Tulane ranks third in its league and trails Charlotte by only a small margin in that category. The Green Wave is second among conference teams for assists per game at just over fifteen.

Kanija Daniel leads Tulane’s scoring efforts with twelve points per game, ranking sixteenth among all players in the conference. Dyllan Hanna leads Tulane’s rebounding efforts with more than seven rebounds each contest and is tenth best within the league. Kendall Sneed provides four assists per game for sixth place among league players.

Tulane averages almost four blocks per contest as a team—fourth highest in their conference—with both Hanna (1.30) and Daniel (1.05) ranked among its top five individual blockers.

In Tulane’s recent matchup against Temple, Hanna set a new personal best by scoring twenty-three points on eleven-of-twenty-three shooting; this marked her first career twenty-point performance and made her the first Tulane player since Kyren Whittington to reach double-digit field goals made in a single game.

Player Mabry is nearing a significant milestone as she sits at nine hundred ninety-five career points—just five away from joining Tulane’s one-thousand-point club as its thirty-third member.

A previously postponed match between Tulane and Memphis due to winter weather has been rescheduled for February seventeenth at seven p.m., followed by another meeting two days later back in New Orleans.

Tulane’s next road test will be against South Florida this weekend; tip-off is scheduled for six p.m., with streaming available on ESPN+.

Tickets are available for purchase by phone, online at TulaneTix.com or directly from the ticket office located at James W. Wilson Jr. Center.
