The Tulane Green Wave women’s bowling team, ranked 17th nationally, secured two victories and one loss during the bracket rounds of the TNBA Open on Sunday at All Star Lanes in Baton Rouge. The team finished fifth among eight competitors after a series of best-of-seven Baker matches.

Tulane started the final day seeded fifth following two days of preliminary play hosted by Jackson State and The National Bowling Association. In their opening match, they swept sixth-seeded Southern with game scores of 154-146, 214-175, 192-173, and 174-172.

Advancing in the bracket, Tulane faced fourth-seeded Oklahoma Christian. The match extended to seven games. Tulane took the first game 214-163 before Oklahoma Christian won the next two. After alternating wins in subsequent games, Oklahoma Christian secured the final game with a score of 248-210 to win the match 4-3.

This result led to a rematch between Tulane and Southern for fifth place. Southern claimed the first game but Tulane responded by winning four straight games with scores of 171-167, 149-139, 171-146, and 185-164.

Tulane is scheduled to compete next at the Music City Challenge in Smyrna, Tennessee from March 6 to March 8. This event is hosted by Vanderbilt and will serve as preparation for both the USBC Intercollegiate Team Sectionals and Conference USA Championship.
