The Tulane University women’s bowling team, currently ranked 17th in the nation, will resume competition at the Flyer Classic hosted by Lewis University in Lockport, Illinois. The event is set to run from Friday, February 6 through Sunday, February 8 at Strike & Spare II.

Tulane had an unplanned break last weekend when winter weather led to the cancellation of the Duquesne Invitational. As a result, the team’s last competitive appearance was at the SWIBC V and VI tournaments on January 17 and 18. During those events, Tulane secured first place in both competitions, with Linnea Holcomb and Lyllian Smith winning individual titles.

The Flyer Classic will feature a field of 26 teams, including 12 programs ranked in the top 25 nationally. In addition to Tulane, other highly ranked teams include Jacksonville State (No. 1), Vanderbilt (No. 2), Arkansas State (No. 3), Youngstown State (No. 7), Maryville (No. 10), Sacred Heart (No. 11), Wright State (No. 12), NC A&T (No. 13), Sam Houston (No. 14), Newman (No. 16), and Valparaiso (No. 18).

The tournament will open with five sets of five Baker matches on Friday starting at 10:35 a.m., followed by five traditional matches on Saturday beginning at 9:25 a.m., and conclude with three best-of-seven Baker bracket matches on Sunday starting at 8:10 a.m.

Tulane’s next scheduled competition after the Flyer Classic is The National Bowling Association Open in Baton Rouge from February 27 to March 1.

Tickets for upcoming men’s and women’s basketball and baseball games are available by phone, online at TulaneTix.com, or at the James W. Wilson Jr. Center ticket office.

“Giving to the Green Wave Club provides Tulane Athletics with the resources student‑athletes need to excel in competition and in the classroom,” according to Tulane Athletics representatives. “Your support directly improves the lives of current and future Green Wave student‑athletes and enhances Tulane’s competitiveness in intercollegiate athletics.”
