Congressman Troy A. Carter, representing Louisiana’s 2nd District, recently expressed a series of opinions and announcements through his online platform. His recent statements shed light on various issues, ranging from governmental decisions affecting veterans to personal congratulations delivered to a former intern.

On May 3, 2025, Carter requested public reflection with an enigmatic message: “Think about it!”

Subsequently, on the same day, he criticized the decisions of the Trump/Musk administration in a post. Carter voiced his disappointment regarding the termination of a specific affordable loan option critical to numerous veterans. He stated, “This is heartless. The Trump/Musk admin just ended the only affordable loan option keeping thousands of veterans in their homes. These heroes fought for our freedoms — and this is how we repay them? Disgraceful. I will fight this cruel decision every step of the way. Our”, expressing his commitment to challenging this decision for the benefit of veterans who served the country.

Later on May 3, 2025, Congressman Carter extended his congratulations to Mason Mackie, an individual affiliated with the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Carter’s message read, “Congratulations to Mason Mackie on crossing into @kapsi1911 Nu Gamma Spring ’25 KonKrete Deuce Klub, Rokk Klub! Mason is an outstanding young man, and it was a pleasure to have him intern in my office. I’m proud to now call him my Kappa brother! Congrats Mason!” Here, he acknowledged Mackie’s achievements and reminisced about Mackie’s internship in his office, noting both pride and camaraderie.

Troy Carter is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Louisiana’s 2nd district. He replaced previous U.S Congress member Cedric Richmond in 2021. Carter graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
