Tulane men’s basketball redshirt sophomore Tyler Ringgold was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2026 Academic All-District Division I Men’s Basketball Team, the organization announced on Mar. 24.
This recognition highlights both academic and athletic achievements among student-athletes nationwide. Ringgold earned a spot on the team by maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.75 while averaging career-best numbers on the court with 9.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game during the season.
Ringgold, who is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, started in all 32 games for Tulane this season and shot 44.1 percent from the field. He also contributed an average of 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
He is the first Tulane player to receive CSC Academic All-District honors since Sion James following the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign.
To be eligible for selection to the CSC’s Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.50, be at least a sophomore academically, and participate in either at least ninety percent of their team’s games or start two-thirds of them during that season.
The College Sports Communicators organization recognizes top student-athletes across NCAA Divisions I through III as well as NAIA schools for excellence both in academics and athletics through its Academic All-America program.
As a team, Tulane finished with an overall record of 18-15 during the 2025-26 season and advanced to the second round of the American Conference Championship tournament. The Green Wave ranked second in their conference in free throw percentage (76.6 percent) and blocked shots (4.48 per game), ultimately finishing ninth with an eight-win conference record that included five road victories—the most since the 2022-23 season.
