The University of New Orleans men’s golf team improved its performance at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, securing an eighth-place finish after struggling in their previous tournament. The event took place in Sugar Land, Texas.

Max Feistmantl led the Privateers with rounds of 71, 68, and 73 for a total score of 210, earning his second straight top-10 finish. His second-round score of 68 matched his career low for the season and marked his third round under 70 this year. Feistmantl recorded five birdies during the two-day tournament.

Tom Watson and Matthew Lotz both finished tied for 30th place with scores of 220. Watson posted rounds of 72 in both the first and third rounds, while Lotz shot even par in the second round. Jude Bourque started strong with an even-par 71 and finished tied for 43rd with a total score of 222. Adam Trahan completed the lineup, finishing tied for 64th at 228.

New Orleans outperformed several teams including Central Michigan, Nicholls, HCU’s B team, UIW, Missouri State, Prairie View A&M, and Texas Southern. Howard University won the tournament at 21-under par. Francisco Perez from Howard claimed the individual title with a score of 14-under.

Looking ahead, New Orleans will compete at Magnolia Grove in Biloxi, Mississippi for the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate on March 30-31.
