Person of Interest, Vehicle Sought by NOPD in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating and identifying a person of interest in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on June 26, 2023, in the 2500 block of Saint Claude Avenue, as well as a vehicle associated with the incident.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on June 26, NOPD Fifth District Officers responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of St. Claude Avenue. The victim was found to have sustained a gunshot wound and was later pronounced deceased.

During the investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives developed the pictured the vehicle and person depicted were said to be involved in the incident. The vehicle is a described as a dark-colored Mazda SUV with heavy window tint, which fled east Saint Claude Avenue following the incident.

The person of interest is not currently wanted on criminal charges in this investigation. However, detectives feel he has knowledge of information vital to the case and wish to interview him.
