Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick is excited to announce the launch of the Junior Citizens Police Academy spring session in collaboration with the New Orleans Recreation Department.

This unique program presents an invaluable opportunity for the youth of New Orleans to engage with and learn from our esteemed Criminal Justice partners. Through hands-on learning experiences and interactive tools, participants will gain insights into Community Policing, Patrol Duties, cutting-edge technology utilized by the NOPD Crime Lab, and much more.

The Junior Citizens Police Academy Internship Program spans six weeks, offering an immersive experience every Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, beginning on April 2. Sessions will be held at various NOPD facilities across the city.

Each session will include food and beverages, and there will be a closing ceremony at the end of the training experience.

Applicants must be between 16 and 18 years of age to be eligible for this program. Because of limited seating, interested individuals are encouraged to complete the application process as soon as possible.

To apply, go to www.nola.gov/nopd/community-services/junior-citizens-police-academy/

Applications can also be submitted to the Community Engagement Office, addressed to Sergeant Shannon Brewer, via email at shjones@nola.gov or by phone at 504-658-5591.

Don't miss the chance to be a part of this transformative experience!
