William J. White, a 63-year-old resident of Phoenix, Arizona, has been sentenced for bank fraud. The sentencing took place on September 25, 2024, and was presided over by U.S. District Judge Sarah S. Vance in the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Court documents reveal that White entered a local bank and attempted to cash a forged and fraudulent check using a false identification document. For this offense, he received a sentence of fifteen months in prison followed by two years of supervised release. Additionally, he was ordered to pay a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.

U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans commended the efforts of the United States Diplomatic Security Service and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for their roles in investigating the case. Assistant United States Attorney Richard R. Pickens II from the Financial Crimes Unit led the prosecution.
